Debra Maloy, CRNA, MHS, has been named Director of the Graduate Programs of Nurse Anesthesia, effective June 1. A 1992 GPNA graduate, Maloy was selected from a pool of candidates from a national search.

She has practiced at Tarrant County Hospital District (John Peter Smith Hospital) since graduation. She joined the faculty at Texas Wesleyan University in 2003.  Maloy has served the nurse anesthesia program and the university as assistant program director for nine years. She teaches Advanced Anesthesia Pharmacology as well as Basic and Advanced Anesthesia Principles and Practice courses. During her time on faculty, she has championed technologically-based learning modalities and promoted blending of scientific principles with practical applications to patient care. She is currently pursuing doctoral studies in higher education at the University of North Texas.
