Gas prices. The Middle East. Iran. There are a lot of
foreign policy topics on President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney’s list, but
there’s a lot that isn’t getting
discussed – and that has big repercussions for the U.S.
Latin America. Africa. India. Ibrahim Salih, professor of political
science, says that these issues are getting trumped in favor of the Middle
East.
“The Middle East is important,” Salih said, “but it’s not
the center of the world.”
Salih also says that Europe’s financial crisis has a big
impact on our own economy – and it was hardly discussed at the final
Presidential debate.Its debt problems –
including the catastrophic problems in Greece – are important and need to be
discussed.
“We have other concerns,” Salih said. “And those were not
discussed thoroughly.”
