Learning Communities Institutes

Learning Community Institutes offer outstanding professional development activities from practical pedagogical strategies to useful technology tools. Experienced LC faculty members benefit from the workshops offered with ideas on updates for their existing LC courses. New LC faculty embarking on their first experience with an LC Cluster benefit by collaborating with experienced faculty on the development of their new courses. The LC Institute also provides the opportunity for faculty members to connect with their LC Cluster colleagues to brainstorm shared themes and assignments for a truly memorable course.

Each Institute workshop is presented with the LC philosophy of active learning in mind. Institute Sessions offer a wide variety of useful topics presented by expert Wesleyan faculty and staff. The Summer Institute occurs at the conclusion of the spring semester in early summer. The fall semester launches with a Fall Kickoff event the week before classes begin and continues with workshops offered in the CETL throughout the semester.

First time Fall Professional Development LC Faculty attendees:

  1. Full attendance $1,000 (24 hours)
