Transfer Admission Requirements

 

  • Application for Admission
    A $25 non-refundable application fee must be submitted to the University with the completed application.
    No application fee is required if you apply online
  • Transcripts
    Official final transcripts from all regionally accredited colleges and universities previously attended.
  • High School Transcript
    Each applicant with fewer than 30 hours of transferable work from a regionally accredited institution must submit an official transcript from the high school from which he/she graduated or an official copy of the General Education Development Diploma test results.
  • Tests
    Applicants transferring fewer than 30 hours must submit official results from the American College Testing (ACT) program, or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) of the College Board. All scores must be sent directly to the Office of Transfer Admission.

    Students who are 25 years of age or older are exempt from SAT and ACT test requirements.

For regular admission, transfer student applicants must hold a high school diploma or the accepted equivalent and meet the following criteria:

  • Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. GPA is computed based on college/university level work transferred from regionally accredited institutions not to include remedial or non-college level work.
  • A combined university and high school level GPA will be computed for students transferring fewer than thirty hours. These students must also submit a minimum SAT composite score of 920 or a minimum ACT composite score of 18 to be eligible for an admission decision.

Specific academic programs may require higher entrance requirements. Applications are subject to review by the dean of the appropriate school for approval to admit.

Important Information!

Students that have not completed Composition I and Composition II are required to take an english and writing placement exam.

Students that have not completed  college Algebra are required to take a math placement exam and the student must enroll in a math course their first semester at Wesleyan.

Students that have not completed 30 or more credit hours are required to take a reading placement exam.

Courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or better for the above requirements.
