1. Why should I attend Texas Wesleyan?


Texas Wesleyan is a small university with a big academic reputation! Our professors get to know you and you won't get lost in the crowd. We also have an active student life where all students can be involved.

3. How do I get admitted into the university?

  • Submit an application with $25 application fee and all official transcripts from colleges and/or universities attended (it is free to apply online)
  • Submit high school transcripts and ACT and/or SAT scores if you have under 30 transferable hours.
  • Texas Wesleyan University requires all transcripts of attended colleges/universities, even if courses from another college/university are listed on the transcript of the college/university you are currently attending.

Transfer students must have an overall 2.0 GPA to be considered for acceptance into the university. Student applicants that are 25 years of age or older are not required to provide ACT or SAT results for admission.

(Please note that Texas Wesleyan University honors the academic suspensions and financial holds of other colleges/universities. Credit for courses and admittance will be subject to these terms.)

4.What if I have already attended Texas Wesleyan University?

Former Texas Wesleyan students who have not been enrolled for two or more consecutive semesters do the Texas Wesleyan 3-Step:

  1. Fill out transfer application
  2. Turn in all official transcripts
  3. Meet with advisor and register

 

5. What is the process after I am accepted? and/ or What do I do after I    have been accepted?

  1. Acceptance packet - This information will be mailed to student
  2. Admissions - make sure to provide admissions office with all official and up to date documentation's.
  3. Financial Aid - Complete FAFSA this can be done at www.fafsa.ed.gov and have the results sent to Texas Wesleyan University (code # 003645)
  4. Scholarships - Upon evaluating your transcript you may be offered an automatic academic scholarship. Once you receive the scholarship offer, please sign it and return it to the Financial Aid office. Additional information on scholarship can be found at www.txwes.edu/financialaid
  5. Placement Exams - Your acceptance packet will provide you with information about what placement exams you will be required to take, if any, and you will need to contact the Academic Resource Center in time to take those placement tests before registering or attending orientation.
  6. Orientation and Registration - Orientation is an opportunity for a "one stop shop" of your registration process. You will be able to get your student ID card, meet with an Academic Advisor, register for classes, meet with financial aid, and work out a payment schedule with the Cashier's office. If you are unable to attend any of the Orientation dates, you will need to make arrangements to meet with your Academic Advisor and the registrars office prior to classes starting.

6. How do my classes transfer?

We recommend that you obtain a copy of all your college transcripts and set an appointment with a Transfer Counselor who will complete an evaluation of your credits. We review your transcripts and input that information on an Advising Worksheet. This form has each student's personal classes applied to their desired degree plan. It lets a student know what transfers and what is needed to complete their degree and graduate from Texas Wesleyan University.

7. What is tuition?


$14,616 annually for the 2007-2008 academic year. The Tuition for the 2008-2009 academic year will be set by the Board of Trustees in April. For the most updated information go to Financial Aid .

8. Are there any scholarships?

We have Athletic, Methodist, Alumni and Fine Art Scholarships. Students with a 2.5 GPA and up can earn an academic scholarship.

9. How many students are attending Wesleyan? How about per class?

There are 2,939 students currently enrolled at Texas Wesleyan University (1,700 undergraduate students). The student to faculty ratio is 15:1.

10. Where is Texas Wesleyan located?

1201 Wesleyan in Fort Worth, TX, off of Rosedale St. between the main highway of 287, 820, and 30
