Applying for Aid

How to Apply for Aid
  1. Complete your admission applicationYou'll get your financial aid offer after you've been admitted to Texas Wesleyan.
  2. File your FAFSA as soon as possible to get the greatest amount of aid. Fill it out via the Web, or call 1-800-4-FED-AID for a paper version.
  3. Review your information with RamLink. You can complete any missing information or review your awards.

You'll Need This Number

Texas Wesleyan's school code is 003645. When you fill out the FAFSA, you will need our school code, so don't forget it!

Don't Wait to Start Your FAFSA

If you don't have your current tax return, you may estimate your tax information when you fill out the FAFSA. Once you have your current tax return, you can finalize your information and be eligible to receive financial aid.

Confirming Your Awards

If you’ve received a Federal Direct Subsidized Loan, Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan or Federal Grad/Plus Loan, you will have to apply for the loan. Have a question about your award? Call us. We'd be happy to help you.

Applying for Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loans

  1. Go to www.studentloans.gov and sign in: You’ll need your FAFSA PIN number – the number you used to file your FAFSA – if you don’t remember this number, you can retrieve it or get a duplicate PIN at www.pin.ed.gov.
  2. Choose complete counseling and then choose “Entrance Counseling.”
  3. Choose “Complete Master Promissory Note: You’ll need to complete an MPN for each loan and even if you’ve had student loans in the past. For your direct student loan, choose “Subsidized/Unsubsidized.”

Parent Plus Loan

  1. Go to www.studentloans.gov and sign in: You’ll need to use your parent-assigned FAFSA pin. If you don’t remember this number, you can retrieve it or get a duplicate PIN at www.pin.ed.gov.
  2. Select Request a Direct PLUS loan, and complete the credit check process.
  3. If your credit is approved, complete the Master Promissory Note. You must turn in an MPN for this loan.

Grad/PLUS

  1. Go to www.studentloans.gov and sign in: You’ll need your FAFSA PIN number – the number you used to file your FAFSA – if you don’t remember this number, you can retrieve it or get a duplicate PIN at www.pin.ed.gov.
  2. Select Request a Direct PLUS loan, and complete the credit check process.
  3. If your credit is approved, complete the Master Promissory Note. You must turn in an MPN for this loan.

Want to cancel or change your loans?

If you want to cancel or revise the amount of your federal student loans, just tell us! Send your request in writing to the Office of Financial Aid via mail or email.
