Grants
A grant is a financial award, often, but not always, from a federal or government agency. You apply for grants when you fill out the FAFSA. Generally, grants do not have to be repaid.
Amount: Maximum $5,550 per academic year
Who: Low-income undergraduate students.
Amount: Maximum $500 per academic year.
Who: Pell Grant recipients.
Amount: Maximum $3,500 per academic year
Who: Limited to students who are:
- Texas residents
- Not receiving an athletic scholarship.
