Toy and clothing drive provides for underprivileged children in Poly area
The 43rd annual Omega Chi
Christmas party for underprivileged children is approaching quickly – and needs
your help to succeed. The event, scheduled for 5 p.m. Dec. 13, is an important
tradition at Texas Wesleyan. For some children in the Polytechnic community,
this may be their only Christmas party and these could be the only gifts they receive.
Nearly 100 children, ages
3-13, need sponsors (either individuals or teams), who will purchase one toy
and one article of clothing with a total value of $35-$50. Unwrapped gifts must
be turned in Dec. 10-11 to the religion department or chaplain’s office (3rd
floor of PUMC), and should have the child’s full name and your name on the bag
containing the gifts. If you prefer not to shop, you can also send a check
(made payable to Omega Chi of Texas Wesleyan) to Chaplain Robert Flowers in
PUMC.
All are welcome to attend
the party (we can use your help there, too).
If you can help, please contact Omega Chi Vice President, Danielle
Barnett at 972-922-9934 or
