Head Coach: Bobby Cornett
After ten seasons as assistant coach, Bobby Cornett has returned to his role as Texas Wesleyan’s head men’s golf coach for the 2009-10 season. Cornett served as head coach for 14 seasons (1985-99). He was named NAIA National Coach of the Year three times while leading the team to National Championships in 1990, 1995, and 1999.
As a player, Cornett led the Rams to four Big State Conference Championships and an NAIA National Championship in 1969. In 1972, Cornett was named NAIA All-American and was the Big State Conference individual medalist.
From there, Cornett made the jump to the professional ranks, where he won four tournaments and participated in eight PGA Tour qualifying schools.
In 1983, he returned to Texas Wesleyan as assistant golf coach before taking over as head coach in 1985. Over the next 14 seasons, he led the Rams to 63 tournament wins including the National Championships in 1990, 1995, and 1999. Cornett also produced 23 All-American selections and three National Medalists.
In 14 seasons, his teams never failed to produce at least one win. In all but one season the team produced multiple victories. Twice his teams posted eight wins in a season (1989 and 1999), just one shy of the school record of nine wins set by O.D. Bounds’ 1983 squad.
After the 1999 season, Cornett stepped down to be an assistant coach in order to concentrate on the National Senior Tour and Senior PGA Tour.
Cornett earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and psychology from Texas Wesleyan in 1972. He and his wife, Denny, have one son, Austin. |

Assistant Coach: Kevin
Millikan
Kevin Millikan enters his third year as an assistant coach after serving as the Rams' head golf coach for the last ten seasons. Millikan is also in his sixth year as Athletic Director.
Millikan joined the Wesleyan golf team as a player following the 1995 championship season and has been involved with the program ever since.
As a player, he participated in the 1997 NAIA National Golf Championship and was a member of the 1997 H.O.T. Conference Championship Team. That season he was chosen by his teammates to receive the Lewis & Dorothy Peek 3-D Award, given annually in recognition of a player's desire, dedication, and determination. In both the 1996 and 1997 seasons, Millikan was nominated by the coaching staff for the Gene & Ann Burge Sportsmanship Award.
Following his senior season, Millikan served as the Rams assistant coach for two years before taking over as head coach after the 1999 National Championship season.
In ten seasons as head coach he led the Rams to 17 tournament wins. In his first four years, the Rams qualified for the NCAA Division II Regionals three times, earning a national championship berth and an 11th place finish in 2000. In five of his last six seasons as head coach, Millikan led the Rams to a top-10 finish in the NAIA National Tournament and had at least one All-America selection each of his last six seasons. In 2009 he led the Rams to their ninth NAIA National runner-up finish.
Millikan graduated from Texas Wesleyan in December 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. He and his wife, Kelly, reside in Fort Worth with their daughter, Kenedy.

Assistant Coach: Bill Myers
Bill Myers is a native Texan, born in Wichita Falls. He attended Texas Technological College receiving a BA with a major in History and minor in government in 1970. While at Texas Tech he played football under head coach JT King during the 1968-69 season.
Myers recieved a commisson as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army Field Artillery in 1970. He served tours of duty in Korea, Vietnam, Germany, Ft. Hood Texas, and Ft. Sill Oklahoma.
Myers became involved with college golf in 1989, when he began helping a former Texas Wesleyan golfer, Dan Gray, put on tournaments in the Ft. Worth area. Over the years, they ran approximately 50 tournaments throughout the area. |

Director of Instruction : Ronnie Rosson
Ronnie Rosson joined the Texas Wesleyan coaching staff as the Director of Instruction in the fall of 2009.
Hailing from Lubbock, TX, Rosson brings a wealth of playing and teaching experience to Texas Wesleyan. Rosson played collegiate golf at Texas Tech University. The former “West Texas PGA Player of the Year” has over 35 years of experience as a golf professional and instructor at numerous clubs in West Texas. Rosson’s “Hybrid” teaching philosophy blends new and old techniques that relate to all golfers. He also has extensive experience with group clinics, club fittings, and course management.
Rosson was named “West Texas PGA Player of the Year” 13 times and won the WTPGA Championship five times, highlighting an accomplished playing career. He has also qualified to play in three Byron Nelson Championships, and four PGA Club Professional Championships. Dedicated to growing the game of golf, the former WTPGA President plays and active role in helping the PGA of America in its promotion of the game.
