FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Joey Evans has been named Red River Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the period of March 16 - 22.
Evans, a junior right-hander from Tyler, TX, delivered his second two-hitter to open the Rams' conference season. After allowing one run in one inning of relief in a blowout loss to Lubbock Christian University (Texas), he blanked Bacone, 4-0, in nine innings. Evans recorded five strikeouts and surrendered one walk as he lowered his ERA to 2.70 for the season.
The Rams (22-11) will return to action on Sunday, when they host Paul Quinn College in an RRAC doubleheader. Game one is set for a 2:00 p.m. start at LaGrave Field. |
