FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University head women’s soccer coach Josh Gibbs announced today the signing of midfielder Brandi Berrier.
Berrier has played at Haltom City High School as well as 92 DFW Tornados who are currently ranked fifth in the state of Texas and in the top 50 in the region.
"We are very pleased to have Brandi joining us next Fall,” Gibbs said. “She impressed Gaspar [Martinez] and me immediately. When she came to tryout with the team, our players were really impressed as well. As a freshmen, I think Brandi can make a real push to see good minutes in a very talented midfield. I am very excited to have a player of her quality here at Texas Wesleyan. She is a great addition and I really look forward to coaching her for the next four years."
Texas Wesleyan finished the 2008 season at 11-7 overall, marking the second highest winning percentage in program history, and 6-1 in conference play. The team won both the Red River Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships, and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament. Gibbs was named both RRAC and Region Coach of the Year while the team featured seven All-Conference selections and one All-American in goalkeeper Brittany O’Brien. |
