FORT WORTH, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University men’s soccer team (4-0) took a 3-1 win over Schreiner University (1-2) at Martin Field on Sunday.

At 4-0, the Rams are off to the best start in school history.  The program had seen 3-0 starts in 2003, 1993, and 1989.

Four minutes into the second half, Schreiner’s Kelan Robinson scored on an assist from Phillip Anderson to bring the margin back to one.

In the 84th minute, Ekene Onuoha played a ball from midfield that Nabassi collected an put away for the 3-1 final score.

The Rams outshot the Mountaineers 18-11.  Goalkeeper Joakim Soderbaum (2-0) needed just one save in the win.

Head coach Josh Gibbs was impressed with his team’s performance during a day game following a night game.  “These guys went through a war last night.  To come out and play a good, physical team today showed a lot of character.  The guys were tired, but they played smart.”

The Rams will now set themselves for 3rd ranked Oklahoma City University on Tuesday.  That game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start at Martin Field.
