FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Toby Rochau has been named Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the period of Sep. 7-13.
Rochau, a senior goalkeeper from Frankfurt, Germany, earned the victory in his only appearance of the week. He collected eight saves on nine shots on goal as the Rams defeated sixth-ranked Oklahoma City University, 2-1. The victory was the first over a top-10 team in Texas Wesleyan history and moved the Rams to 6-0 overall.
Texas College’s Daniel Campos received the RRAC Offensive award. Campos scored both goals during a 2-1 win over LSU-Shreveport.
The Rams will return to action on Friday, when they travel to Chickasha, OK, to take on the University of Science & Arts (OK). That game is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start. |
