VENHUIZEN, HARRIS NAMED RRAC P.O.W.

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University’s Kristen Venhuizen has been named Red River Athletic Conference Volleyball Hitter of the Week for the period of Sep. 7-13.  Her teammate, Kristina Harris, was named Libero of the Week.

Venhuizen, a junior outside hitter from Austin, TX, led the Lady Rams to a 2-3 week with 37 kills and 47 digs.  She posted a high of 10 kills with 10 digs in a 3-0 victory over Howard Payne University (TX).  Venhuizen also provided a high of 13 digs in a loss to Texas Woman's University as the Lady Rams advanced to 3-6 overall.

Harris, a senior defensive specialist from Cleburne, TX, scooped up 65 digs for Texas Wesleyan last week including a high of 18 against Wayland Baptist University (TX).  She posted a reception percentage of .910 with only 6 errors in 67 total attempts.

Southwestern Assemblies of God University’s Kelani Daniels was named Player of the Week, while her teammate, Rachel Brown, received the RRAC Setter of the Week award.

The Lady Rams return to action on Tuesday, in their home opener.  They will host Southern Nazarene University at 7:00 p.m. in the Sid Richardson Center.
