FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Joakim Soderbaum has been named Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of September 14-20.
Soderbaum, a junior goalkeeper from Varberg, Sweden, moved to 4-0 on the season with a 3-1 Ram victory over St. Gregory's University (OK). He stopped eight of nine shots to earn the win as the 24th ranked Rams improved to 7-1 on the season.
UT-Brownsville’s Mario Perez received the RRAC offensive award after tallying two goals and two assists in three games for the Scorpions.
The Rams will return to action on Saturday, September 26, when they travel to Siloam Springs, AR, to take on John Brown University. That game is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start. |
