RAMS HEAD TO FINAL ROUND IN EIGHTH |
SAN ANTONIO, TX: The 4th ranked Texas Wesleyan University men’s golf team is in 8th position after two rounds at St. Mary’s University’s Rattler Invitational at Pecan Valley Golf Course.
The Rams had to rally after a first round of 305 put them in 10th place. A second round of 295, led by a three-under par 69 from Derek Brown lifted the Rams to 8th place with a total score of 600.
The hosting Rattlers lead the field with a 36-hole score of 575. Johnathan Schnitzer and Julio Vegas, both of the University of Texas, are tied for the individual lead at 138. Schnitzer fired the low round of the day with a card of 64 in the second round.
Brown leads the Rams with a total score of 146 and sits in 15th place. Tyson Lamb is tied for 36th with a score of 152, while Thomas Bosco shot 153, and Dillon Watkins 154. Aaron Canavan contributed a second round 75 after a disqualification in his first round.
The Rams, who trail third place Dallas Baptist University by just seven shots, will complete play with the third and final round on Tuesday.
