SAN ANTONIO, TX: The 4th ranked Texas Wesleyan University men’s golf team fell to a tie for 11th place in the final round of St. Mary’s University’s Bruce Williams Rattler Invitational.
The Rams started the day in 8th place, just seven shots out of 3rd place, but shot 310 in Tuesday’s third and final round to fall to 11th with a total score of 910.
Derek Brown finished a solid tournament with a round of 75 for Texas Wesleyan to finish tied for 16th among 95 individuals at five-over par 221. Tyson Lamb also shot 75 on Tuesday and finished tied for 34th at 227.
The hosting Rattlers ran away with the tournament at 866, 18 strokes better than second place Dallas Baptist University. Donald Constable of the University of Texas, playing as an individual, was the individual medalist at seven-under par 209.
Texas Wesleyan will return to action at next week’s Grand Canyon Invitational. The 54-hole event, hosted by Grand Canyon University at Estrella Mountain Ranch, will be played on October 5-6.
