WAXAHACHIE, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (7-11, 2-2 RRAC) suffered a 3-0 loss at Southwestern Assemblies of God University (15-2, 3-1) in Red River Athletic Conference action on Thursday.
The Lady Rams pushed the Lady Lions in all three matches but could not find the closing points. SAGU took the first two games 25-20 and 25-18. In game three Texas Wesleyan led 22-20, but Kelani Daniels threw in a pair of service aces during a 5-1 SAGU runs to close out the match with a 25-23 win.
Devin Warren notched eight kills against just one hitting error for Texas Wesleyan. Evoni Darling posted 16 assists while Angelica Arroyo finished with 13. Daniels posted a double-double for SAGU with 11 kills and 10 digs.
The Lady Rams will return to action on Saturday, with a pair of contests. They will host Bacone College in an RRAC contest at 11:00 a.m. before taking on the University of St. Thomas at 1:00 p.m. in the Sid Richardson Center. |
