TYLER, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University men’s soccer team (8-3, 1-1 RRAC) suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of conference foe Texas College (3-4, 2-0 RRAC) Saturday afternoon.
The Rams seemed a split second behind the Steers most of the first half, as the Steers took 13 shots in the first period.
The Steers scored both of their goals in the first half. The first goal came in the 22nd minute by Mauro Tijerna, with the second coming in the 42nd minute from Alfred Troncosco, with Emmanuel Rodriguez assisting.
The Rams forced the Steers to play on their heels in the second half, but failed to put points on the board.
The Steers outshot the Rams 25 to nine. Texas College gave up 11 fouls to Wesleyan’s 10.
The Steers’ Bertin Hernandez and Jony Rivera both were ejected from the game.
Toby Rochau had 11 saves, despite giving up the two goals and sits at 3-3.
The Rams look to rebound on Thursday October 8, as they take on Our Lady of the Lake at 5:30 p.m. at Martin Field. |
