SODERBAUM NAMED RRAC P.O.W. |
FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Joakim Soderbaum has been selected Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the period of September 28 – October 4. The award was the second of the season for Soderbaum.
Soderbaum, a junior goalkeeper from Varberg, Sweden, posted a shutout in his only match of the week as the Rams outlasted Bacone College (OK), 1-0. He stopped all five shots he faced to earn his second shutout of the season and lower his goals against average to 0.53. Texas Wesleyan is now 1-1 in the conference and 8-3 overall.
Huston-Tillotson’s Oumar Dijba and UT-Brownsville’s Fredrik Ekvall shared the RRAC’s Offensive award for the week.
The Rams will return to action on Thursday, October 8, when they host Our Lady of the Lake University. That game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start at Martin Field. |
