SAN ANTONIO, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (9-12, 3-3 RRAC) suffered a 3-1 loss at Our Lady of the Lake University (10-8, 5-2) on Thursday.
The Saints made a late comeback to steal game one 25-23, before Texas Wesleyan leveled the match with a 25-18 win in game two. In game three, OLLU again came from behind to snare a 25-23 win and then road that momentum to a 25-13 win in game four.
Junior outside hitter Brittney Person matched her career-high with 17 kills in the loss. Kaitlyn Lowes added 11 kills, while Destiny Clemons finished with 10 kills and three blocks. Rachel Daniel contributed four blocks.
Angelica Arroyo and Evoni Darling each had double-doubles. Arroyo finished with 11 digs and 20 assists, while Darling posted 18 digs and 16 assists. Chelsy Covington finished with a team-high 20 digs.
The Rams will continue their three-game road trip on Friday, when they travel to Brownsville, TX, to take on conference leading UT-Brownsville (19-1, 6-0). That game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start. |
