BROWNSVILLE, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (9-13, 3-4 RRAC) suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of 11th ranked UT-Brownsville (20-1, 7-0) in Red River Athletic Conference action on Friday.

The Lady Rams hung with the Scorpions in the early going, but a 6-1 run brought the score to 20-11 UTB.  The Scorpions went on to take game one 25-16.  UT-Brownsville breezed to a 25-11 win in game two.  In game three, UTB jumped ahead 10-5.  The Lady Rams kept the Scorpions in range from there, but could not come back, falling 25-18 in the clincher.

Kaitlyn Lowes led the Lady Rams with six kills.  Kristen Venhuizen posted five kills and nine digs.  Angelica Arroyo had 12 assists, while Evoni Darling finished with 11.  Chelsy Covington continued to play solid defense, finishing with 15 digs.

Texas Wesleyan will close out a three-game road trip on Saturday, when they travel to Austin, TX, to take on Huston-Tillotson University.  That game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
