SILVIS, IL:  The Texas Wesleyan University men’s golf team played TPC @ Deere Run for the first time since taking NAIA National Runner-up honors last spring.  The Rams enjoyed the same results in this year's NAIA Preview Invitational.  The seventh ranked Rams finished second to second ranked Oklahoma City University.

Senior Drew Koonce continued to lead Texas Wesleyan, finishing in a tie for fifth at four-over par, 146.  Armando Villarreal also cracked the top-ten, finishing in a tie for tenth at 150 for the tournament.

After an opening round 292 gave Texas Wesleyan a one-stroke lead in the tournament, the Rams shot 307 on Tuesday.  Oklahoma City shot 294 on Tuesday to charge to the lead and win the tournament at 594.

Indianan Wesleyan’s Austin Conroy won individual medalist honors in the field of 90 golfers with a 36-hole card of one-under par, 141.

Thomas Bosco tied for 36th (155).  Dilon Watkins tied for 50th (157), and Frazer Ogston tied for 66th (161) to round out Texas Wesleyan’s card.

The Rams will return to action October 26-27, in the Tangle Ridge Shootout at Tangle Ridge Golf Course in Grand Prairie, TX.
