LADY RAMS BREAK RECORD IN WIN
October 17, 2009

Box Score

FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women’s soccer team (10-5) picked up an easy victory at the hands of Southwestern Adventist University in a 20-0 match that set the school record for most team goals in a single game late Saturday night.

The Lady Rams performance Saturday easily put them in the school record books as they crushed the previous record of 14 goals in a single game held by the 2003 squad. The Lady Rams barely finished play before midnight as they took it to the Lady Knights all night long, scoring at will throughout the entire game.

Jessica Watton wasted no time getting the ball in the net as she scored the first goal one minute and eight seconds into the match. Watton would score three goals all together in the victory over the Lady Knights.

The rest of the Lady Rams followed suit and scored often as Brandi Berrier scored three goals in the contest. Berrier also notched an assists in the win. Lateah Lucero found the net in the 10th minute, and Jaimie Romaguera, Kayla Doherty, Christina Zimmerman, Samantha Greer, and Jordan Carrizales all finished with one goal each. Romaguera and Carrizales both picked up an assist, while Greer notched two assists in the match.

Cara Lumpkin went three for three, scoring three goals on three shots. Lumpkin also added two assists to go along with her hat trick.

Alejandra Barrera was one goal shy of tying a school record for goals in a single game as she scored an impressive five goals, adding two assists in the 20-0 win.

No fouls were given to either team, something very rare in soccer, as the Lady Rams outshot the Lady Knights 51-0

The Lady Rams travel to take on conference opponent University of the Southwest on Saturday, October 24 at 3:00 p.m.
