COVINGTON NAMED RRAC P.O.W. |
FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Chesly Covington has been named Red River Athletic Conference Volleyball Libero of the Week for the fourth time this season. She received the award for her performance during the week of October 19-25.
Covington, a sophomore libero from Hutto, TX, continued her strong defensive play with 38 digs in a pair of matches for the Lady Rams last week. She notched a career-high with 28 digs in a 3-2 win over Bacone College (OK) in addition to three aces and three kills.
UT-Brownsville’s Arlene Ferreira was named RRAC Player and Hitter of the Week while her teammate, Daianarah Bracero, was named the RRAC Setter of the Week.
Texas Wesleyan will return to action on Friday, when they take on Texas College at 4:00 p.m. in Tyler, TX, and Jarvis Christian College at 7:00 p.m. in Hawkins, TX. |
