FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Jaimie Romaguera has been named Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the period of October 19-25.
Romaguera, a senior midfielder from Arlington, TX, knocked in her team-leading 11th goal of the season to pace a 3-0 victory over the University of the Southwest (NM) on Saturday. The goal proved to be the game-winner, and she also added an assist later in the match as the Lady Rams moved to 4-2 in the conference and 11-5 on the season.
Romaguera shared the award with UT-Brownville’s Helen Wagstaff, while UTB’s Chelsea Maidment received the RRAC Defensive award.
The Lady Rams will host Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Think Pink Day next Thursday. That game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start at Martin Field. |
