ROMAGUERA, PARKS NAMED RRAC P.O.W.
November 2, 2009

FORT WORTH, TX:  For the second consecutive week, Texas Wesleyan University’s Jaimie Romaguera has been named Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while her teammate, Danielle parks, joined her has RRAC Defensive Player of the Week.  The two won the award for their performance during the week of October 26 – November 1.

Romaguera, a senior midfielder from Arlington, TX, continued her scoring barrage with four goals this week.  She knocked in a pair of goals in a 10-0 blowout of Southwestern Assemblies of God University (TX), and she added two more and an assist in a 10-1 win over Huston-Tillotson University (TX).  The goals brought Romaguera's season total to 15.

Parks, a senior defender from Mansfield, TX, anchored a  back line that allowed just nine total shots and one goal in the Lady Rams' two victories.  The win over SAGU marked TWU's school record-tying eighth shutout of the season.

At 6-2 in conference play and 13-5 overall, the Lady Rams secured the third seed in this week’s RRAC Tournament, which they will host November 5-7.  Texas Wesleyan will play sixth seeded Bacone College at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday in quarterfinal action.
