FORT WORTH, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University women’s soccer team (14-5) took a 4-0 win over Bacone College (2-12-2) in Red River Athletic Conference quarterfinal action at Martin Field on Thursday.

With the win, the third seeded Rams advanced to face second seeded UT-Brownsville in Friday’s semifinal.  The win also marked the team’s school record tying 14th of the season.

Senior defender, Danielle Parks got the scoring started with a strike from the top of the box in the 25th minute.  Just before the half, Jacqueline Wittman fed Alysia Kroger for a second Texas Wesleyan goal.

Jessica Watton scored in the 49th minute to make it 3-0 early in the second period.  Christina Zimmerman capped the scoring with a goal in the 54th minute.

The defensive line allowed just two shots, one on goal, and no corner kicks, while the Lady Rams themselves took 27 shots, 13 on goal, and took 15 corners.

Goalkeeper Katy Houchin made one save in her ninth shutout of the season.

The Lady Rams will square off with UTB at 3:00 p.m. at Martin Field on Friday.  In other semifinal action, #4 Our Lady of the Lake defeated #5 University of the Southwest, 2-0.  The Saints advance to face top seeded Northwood on Friday.
