CELEBRATING THE SPIRIT OF POLY

When Polytechnic High School achieved its remarkable TAKS Test turnaround earlier this summer, Senator Wendy Davis began planning a community celebration. On Saturday, Oct. 31, Senator Davis will host an event that begins with a parade at Poly High School and proceeds to our campus. Since Wesleyan is a strong supporter of Poly, it is only fitting that we set the stage to celebrate the success of Poly students, parents, and administrators.

President Harold Jeffcoat will participate in the parade, which begins at 10 a.m. and will proceed down Rosedale to the quad. Davis, Jeffcoat, and a number of elected officials and community leaders will address the crowd. The event will culminate in activities and games for the whole family until 1 p.m. Wesleyan students, faculty, and staff will help as volunteers during the event. The celebration is open to everyone at Wesleyan and in the Poly community … and especially Poly High alumni.
