Groundbreaking for Jack and Jo Willa Morton Fitness Center on Aug. 28
A groundbreaking for the $3 million state-of-the-art Jack and Jo Willa Morton Fitness Center will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, on the mall of the Texas Wesleyan University campus. Cheerleaders, elected officials, and the Wesleyan community will join in the festivities, which includes music, giveaways, and lunch. Classes will be dismissed early so that all students may attend. The presence of the new Morton Fitness Center will serve not only as an outlet for fitness conditioning, but also as a gathering place for social interaction. Its location on the Quad makes it convenient for students to join together in an informal atmosphere. Mix in faculty and staff, and whether it’s group fitness programs or just relaxing in the lounge before or after a workout, the center will help lift spirits and improve morale throughout our campus community.
