During his 47 years of ministry, McDowell has authored or co-authored 108 books, including More Than a Carpenter, which has been translated into more than 85 languages, and New Evidence That Demands a Verdict, which has been recognized by World Magazine as one of the century’s most influential books. He has been chosen for the Gold Medallion Book Award four times. McDowell will give a lecture at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, in sanctuary of Polytechnic United Methodist Church. The lecture is free and open to the public. The annual Willson Lecture Series is made possible by a gift from the late Mavis Terry Willson and the late J.M. Willson of Floydada, Texas. In 1946, the Willsons provided an endowment to bring outstanding speakers to campus. Through the years, these speakers have delivered messages that have challenged and inspired thousands of Texas Wesleyan students, faculty and staff. Polytechnic United Methodist Church is located at 1310 S. Collard St., Fort Worth. For more information about the Willson Lecture Series, call (817) 531-4461 or email gchilds@txwes.edu.
