Proposal to remove the “Consent of Instructor” prerequisite from individual courses in the catalog except special courses that require individual student approval, such as internships, and the addition of the consent of instructor possibility to the general explanation of “pre-requisites” in the catalog. Remaining issues: (a) General catalog statement regarding the possibility of consent of instructor; and (b) a review of graduate courses with consent of instructor pre-requisite. Motion carried to approve the proposed catalog statement as disseminated with the agenda.

    1. Update Language to Admissions Criteria

Proposal to eliminate requirement that applicants must have a valid Texas Teaching Certificate for admission to the Master of Science in School Counseling and instead include as an information item in the catalog language re. the requirement that students must have a minimum of two years of creditable full-time equivalent teaching service in order to sit for the TExES certification exam.

    1. Increase Practicum Hours for LPC and LMFT

Proposal to increase practicum hours from 150 to 175 to allow pursuit of program accreditation. Motion to approve both proposals as amended carried.

    1. Catalog language change to 5th Year Program

Proposal to adjust the admission requirements to the program so that the same requirements are outlined in both the undergraduate and graduate catalogs.

(a) Proposal (information item) to require that students earn a grade of "C" or higher for all undergraduate business prerequisite courses; (b) Proposal that no more than 6 hours of business transfer credits with a grade of "D" will apply toward major requirements, and no transfer grades of "D" will apply towards concentration courses. In addition, a maximum of 6 hours of transfer credits may be applied to satisfy a concentration requirement. Motion carried.
