ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Provide input in the development of recruitment activities for transfer students.
Develop and write a territory recruiting plan and provide weekly, monthly and year-end reports on territory activity.
Recruit prospective students through college fairs/programs, high schools, churches and other professional contacts.
Coordinate, schedule and give campus tours and open houses on the main campus for prospective students and their families.
Visit and coordinate information exchange with community college counselors, advisors, and faculty.
Advise prospective students concerning program options, course availability, and degree requirements.
Give admissions-related presentations to tour groups, school groups, and prospective students.
Assist in planning and administrating special, on-campus admission programs.
Provide effective follow-up for prospective students including telephone calls, emails and letters.
Provide prospective students/families academic and financial aid information.
Read, process, and evaluate applications and transcripts for admission and academic scholarship recommendations.
Input student data and applicant data into the Datatel/Colleague Student Information System.
Create advising worksheets/transfer plans for prospects and applicants.
Provide prospective students/families academic, financial aid information, and campus information.
Assist with on-campus orientation of new students.
Participate in at least one Admissions Office Committee.
Assist Assistant Director with communications to students.
Maintain a positive working relationship with faculty, staff, and students within the Texas Wesleyan community.
Adhere to the Statement of Principles of Good Practice of the NACAC.
Other duties as assigned by the Director.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree required, liberal arts background preferred.
Previous admission or related experience preferred, but not required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &ABILITIES
Demonstrated administrative ability to plan and execute programs and activities, to secure cooperation
from individuals and organizations, and to coordinate the activities of such individuals and organizations.
Proficiency with an integrated administrative system and current software programs.
Ability to demonstrate a cooperative attitude while working with a diverse student population.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining a high attention for details.
Strong organizational skills to work productively & efficiently to meet multiple deadlines.
Ability to work individually and within a team environment.
Ability to adhere to University & departmental policies and procedures.
Ability to be discrete handling confidential matters, while complying with FERPA regulations.
Outstanding interpersonal and community relations skills.
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and office atmosphere.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to write standard correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to current and prospective students and University employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Valid Texas Driver's license
