Honor societies:

Alpha Chi

Junior and senior students maintaining a 3.5 or higher grade-point average are eligible for Alpha Chi, a national society.

Alpha Lambda Delta

Alpha Lambda Delta is a national society that honors high scholastic achievement during the freshman year.  The student must be registered for a full course of study and earn a scholastic average of 3.5 or above.

Mortar Board

Mortar Board serves to recognize excelllence in juniors and seniors on the basis of scholarship, leadership and service.  Students must be juniors or seniors, representing the top 35 percent of their class academicallly and have demonstrated leadership abilities and service to the University, the community or both.

Phi Theta Kappa Alumni Association

The primary purpose of the Phi Theta Alumni Association is to support the people programs and priorities of the Phi Theta Kappa Society through aid to transfer students, providing assistance to the office of transfer admission and to ensure the continued academic excellence of Phi Theta Kappa members.

 

Honor societies for specific majors:

Alpha Psi Omega (Theatre Arts)

Alpha Psi Omega is a national honorary fraternity for those in the theatre arts department.

Pi Gamma Ma (Social Science)

An international honor society in social science, Pi Gamma Ma was formed to encourage the study of the social sciences and to recognize outstanding achievement through election to membership and the presentation of various awards for distinguished achievement.

Pi Sigma Alpha (Political Science)

A political science honor society with the purpose of promoting and stimulating scholarship, advanced and diffuse knowledge, develpoing an interest in political science and promoting worthwhile activities related to political science.  Membership is open to qualified juniors, seniors, or graduate students.

Psi Chi (Psychology)

Psi Chi is an honor society for students in psychology.

Sigma Tau Delta (English)

Sigma Tau Delta is an international English nonor society.  Open to English majors and minors who have more than six hours fo freshman English, at least a 3.0 grade point average in Englsih and an overall G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher.

 

Academic Organizations:

Beta Beta Beta

Beta Beta Beta is a national organization for undergraduates hwo are interested in the life sciences.  Active membership is limited to biology majors.  Students who have completed three courses in biology may become associate members.

Masters of Business Administration Student Association (MBASA)

the MBASA serves the interests of the Texas Wesleyan MBA students, faculty, and staff by organizing seminars, programs, socials and addressing important issues of the MBA students.

Kappa Delta Phi (Education)

Sigma Beta Delta

The purpose of Sigma Beta Delta is to encourage and recognize scholarship and accomplishment among students of business, management and administration and to encourage and promote aspirations toward personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to human kind.

Phi Alpha Sigma (Accounting)

Phi Beta Lambda (Business)

The Beta Nu chapter of Phi Beta Lambda is open to all students who are business majors or minors. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for development of initiative, responsibility, social poise, leadership training and contact with business leaders, we offer great networking opportunities.

Pre-Medical Society

The purpose of this society is to help its members relate educational theory to the medical profession, establish contact with doctors, develop leadership ability and social poise, improve self-confidence and expose students to the medical school deans.

Professional Society of Mass Communication

The purpose of this society is to promote aspects of mass communication and to help and encourage members to attain high goals as well as well as experience in field of mass media.

Sigma Alpha Iota (Music)

Sigma Alpha Iota is a national professional music sorority for women who have a 3.0 overall grade point average.

Sports Medicine Society
