Is there financial aid for international students?

There is no government financial aid for international students. However, Texas Wesleyan University offers academic scholarships for international students. These range from $2500 to $9000 per year and are applied to tuition and fees.  See the section on Scholarships for more information.

Do I have to take the TOEFL?

No.  You may take the IELTS or be exempt by other means.  See the English proficiency requirements listed under Official Evidence of English Proficiency in the Admission Requirements page.

Can I send a resume with my application?
Only graduate students should submit a resume with their application.

What happens if I don't receive my visa in time?

We will defer your admission for the following semester and issue you a new I-20.

Where do international students usually live?

Most international students prefer to live on campus in student housing.  They find it is convenient and safe. It also offers more opportunities to interact with American students.  Some students live off campus with family or friends. To apply for student housing, go to the Housing and Residence life page.

How many international students are there on campus?

There are generally 40-60 international students on campus.  They come from almost as many different countries.  This makes the international community exciting and supportive. 

When does school begin?

Fall 2009 semester classes begin August 24, 2009; however, international students should arrive before August 20 to participate in the New International Student Orientation.
