Program Overview

The program will enable students to learn about the history of the Irish people and nation, focusing especially on their religious heritage and the interaction of religion with politics and economics in the development of Ireland. Much of the study will be done in the place where most of the events happened.  Students will be able to visit many of those places they read about in their textbooks and in other writings.  Students will also gain the experience of meeting persons from another contemporary culture while studying an earlier period of the history of that culture--namely the Republic of Ireland.
