Inauguration of President Frederick G. Slabach Caps Week of Special Events
Texas Wesleyan University is hosting a week-long celebration leading up to the formal inauguration of President Frederick G. Slabach on Friday, Jan. 27. Slabach became the 20th president of Texas Wesleyan on Jan. 1, 2011.
On Monday, Jan. 23, Texas Wesleyan School of Law will hold a reception for President Slabach at its downtown campus. Members of the Law School community are invited to attend.
On Tuesday, Jan. 24, the Department of Music will conduct an Inauguration Concert showcasing the best of its student performers. The School of Business will host a video conference with Tompie Hall, CEO of Global Market Link, and Dr. AbdulRahman Al-Muhailan, Chairman of Gulf University of Science & Technology. The topic is on religious and cultural issues affecting business in the Arabian Gulf.
On Wednesday, Jan. 25, a reception will be held to recognize the scholarly and creative work of the Texas Wesleyan faculty.
On Thursday, Jan. 26, an invitation-only Inaugural Gala will be held the same evening as an evening concert held on campus starring the country music group Maiden Texas.
On Friday, Jan. 27, Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright will deliver the keynote address at the Inauguration ceremony, which begins at 11 a.m. Dr. Albright served as the 64th Secretary of State from 1997 to 2001 and now serves as chair of Albright Stonebridge Group, a global strategy firm.
