Soprano Ava Pine will present a recital at Texas Wesleyan University on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. A perennial DFW favorite, Ms. Pine is has appeared with Fort Worth Opera and Dallas Opera, as well as Opera Colorado and Florentine Opera, among others. The centerpiece of the recital program will be Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915, complemented by German lieder echoing themes of nature and nostalgia. Collaborating with Ms. Pine will be pianist Kate Stevens, also well-known to Fort Worth audiences, who is currently an active performer in New York.
The recital will be held in Martin Hall on the Texas Wesleyan University campus at 7:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance in the Texas Wesleyan Music Department Office or at the door.
General Admission tickets are $10. Balcony seating will be free for students with a valid ID.
