Unlocking Doors

Security can unlock buildings, classrooms, labs, offices and conference rooms that are not on the regular opening schedule.  Faculty and staff should fill out a Building Access Request form.  A link to the form is located to the right.  This will put your request on the security calendar.  Please note that being on the calendar does not mean that the room/building will be opened in advance.  This merely lets security know that it is okay to let you in when you call.   For security reasons, buildings/rooms are not opened unless someone is physically present.   You will still need to call 817-531-4911 or 817-531-4290 when you arrive to have security come open the door.

If students require access to a building, classroom, office or lab after-hours or weekends, written permission must come from their professor or department head.  The student will then be added to a list of approved students.  Security will need the following information in order to add a student to the approved list:

Student's full name

Student ID number

Building

Room(s)

Start date

End date

Times approved

(example:  Jane Smith, SID 123456, 3/1/06 - 4/1/06, McFadden, Lab 201, weekends from 8am - 8pm)

Security Escort

For individuals who are handicapped or temporarily disabled due to an injury, security can provide transportation to and from buildings on campus.

If you would like to be escorted from a building to your car after dark, call (817) 531-4911.  Give your name, the building, and the entrance in which you will meet the officer.  Allow 5-10 minutes from the time you call to the time security arrives.

Flat Tires

Security will assist faculty, staff and students with flat tires.  Security will put air in the tire to see of it will hold air.  If the tire will hold air, the owner is encouraged to drive their vehicle directly to a repair facility to have their tire repaired or changed.  Due to liability concerns, security will not be able to change the tire.  Call 817-531-4911 and give your name, the make, model and color of your car, and the parking lot in which your car is located.  You will need to be at your car when security arrives and sign a liability waiver before security can assist you.

Dead Battery Jump

Security will assist faculty, staff and students by jumping dead batteries.  Call (817) 531-4911 and give your name, the make, model and color of your car, and the parking lot in which your car is located.  You will need to be at your car when security arrives and sign a liability waiver before security can assist you.

Keys Locked in Car

For liability reasons, security can no longer unlock cars for anyone who has locked their keys in their car.  Security can provide you with the phone number of a local locksmith who can assist you.  You will be responsible for any costs incurred.
