Part of the Texas Wesleyan faculty since 2008, Chaudhuri enjoys the number of non-traditional students on campus. “Non-traditional students bring very valuable life experience to class and I can share with them a global perspective; we can work together. Teaching is a collaborative enterprise. Basically, my teaching philosophy is to simplify higher learning and disseminate information to as many people as possible. I try to increase critical thinking, tolerance, and global understanding, and make knowledge fun.”

Her interest in Sociology began in high school when globalization came to full form. “Sociology is pretty much a lens for how to look at all things around me.” She was intrigued by the HIV/AIDS epidemic, especially in her home country of India. Chaudhuri, who is a doctorial candidate, likes teaching Social Stratification, Population and Society, and Minority Groups because “they all deal with diversity in their own ways.”

Chaudhuri’s recent publications include the book, “Defining Women in American and Indian Prime Time” and the article, “Patterns of Male Victimization in Intimate Relationships: A Pilot Comparison of Academic and Media Reports.”
