While Mrs. Pokluda began her new position in September 2011, she started working at Texas Wesleyan in 2005. Since then, there have been 2 new buildings added to the campus, advances in technology, and new plans for future development. She loves the spirit and feel of the historical school and continues to support the strong commitment to students in the Cashier’s Office. Her own family history includes Texas Wesleyan, with an uncle attending during World War II and continuing thru the years with several other family members. Mrs. Pokluda was also a student at Wesleyan, as well as her son, Taylor. They both graduated in December 2011. She has a B.S. in Liberal Studies with business and psychology concentrations.
"My son says that he liked being a big fish in a little pond instead of a little fish in a big pond. I like that Wesleyan provides that feeling."
Mrs. Pokluda, along with her husband, enjoys attending Texas Wesleyan sporting events and concerts. "I think it's important to support students not only in academics but in their other interests as well. I really enjoy the students and tend to treat them like my own child."
