Finals are almost here, and with that comes stress. The Academic Success Center can help you decrease that stress and get organized for your finals.
One of the best ways to overcome the stress of finals is to create a plan of action, and we have many tools that can help you with this.
Now is a great time to stop by the ASC and get a headstart on your finals prep. Professors are already starting extra review sessions to help students prepare, and we have the schedules for these sessions.
We also have plenty of tutors here for assistance with proofing papers, refreshing your memory on a certain topic, helping you with that hard problem in a math course, balancing your books in accounting plus many other areas of expertise. Our last day for tutoring will be May 9, so don't wait to schedule a session.
Here are a few tips to help you prepare for your finals.
Locate all the materials that you need for the final including quizzes, tests and homework. Determine whether it's a comprehensive final and if there are topics that you need to "relearn" for the course. Another pro tip? Check the final exam schedule to make sure you know when your exams are being held.
Begin preparing now. Break down the material from the semester into small, manageable amounts to review each day. Start making reviews and note cards.
Block out study times on a calendar and stick with it. Offer yourself rewards for completing study times.
It is important to take breaks to refresh your brain. Do something you enjoy. Exercise is an excellent way to "de-stress."
Come by the ASC and we'll be glad to help you survive the week. Schedule a tutoring session now — don't wait until the last minute. The ASC's tutoring schedule is different during finals week and appointments are filling up quickly.
