Audition Information

You're ready to work towards a degree in music, and Texas Wesleyan University's looking like it could be the place for you. Let's get you started.

Please be aware that you must schedule an audition before the semester you intend to begin your studies with the Department of Music. Auditions are good for one year, after which you must audition again if you do not attend music classes here at Texas Wesleyan.

Procedure and Requirements

  • Prepare two selections in contrasting styles for performance. 
  • Sign up for an audition time at the link below.
  • An accompanist will be provided if necessary. Please bring a copy of your sheet music. 
  • All instrumental (including piano and guitar) applicants will be asked to sight-read on his/her instrument.
  • All applicants will be asked to sight-sing a short melody and read a short rhythm exercise.

Apply to Texas Wesleyan

In order to receive full consideration for acceptance to the music department and/or a music scholarship, you need to complete the online application to Texas Wesleyan University before your audition date. Apply online at The application is quick and free of charge. Acceptance to the University does not guarantee you acceptance to the Department of Music.
