Wesleyan professor honored as equine competition's resident artist

09.16.2013 | By: Texas Wesleyan University

For the third year, Professor Kit Hall is serving as the resident artist at one of Fort Worth’s most exciting equine events.

Professor Hall, who teaches art in the Department of Religion and Humanities, will be drawing next to the action during the Mustang Million this week. She plans to complete a triptych by the end of the competition that will be donated to the Mustang Heritage Foundation.

Extending the reach of the classroom

In addition to fulfilling her duties as resident artist, she will be conducting her Introduction to Visual Arts class from the arena via a video feed facilitated by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL). Her Beginning Drawing students will also join her at the arena during the week, bringing their sketchbooks and cameras to create art on location.

The event, held in the John Justin Arena at the Will Rogers Memorial Complex, runs through Sept. 21.
