Theatre Wesleyan introduces new Snapchat geofilter for students and patrons
Theatre Wesleyan continues its social media outreach with a new feature designed exclusively for students and patrons who attend productions.
"Social media has played a huge part in promoting our shows from things like event listings, discounts, and just spreading the word with a click," theatre business manager Jacob Rivera-Sanchez said. "This was my third or fourth attempt at getting us one of these [filters on Snapchat] and I'm excited to say we finally did it!"
Snapchat is a video and photo messaging mobile app that allows users to send visual "text messages" to each other. The app allows Geofilters which are user-created filters that show up by location.
"Geofilters are special overlays for Snaps that can only be accessed in certain locations," according to the Snapchat website. "Artists and designers are encouraged to use this tool to bring their one-of-a-kind style to the Snapchat community."
Texas Wesleyan University and the city of Fort Worth itself are among the several Geofilter options available in the local community.
You can access the Theatre Wesleyan Geofilter when you are located near the Law Sone Fine Arts Building/Thad Smotherman Theatre or the Dan Waggoner Annex.
