Theatre Wesleyan announces Playmarket in New York; submissions accepted soon
Theatre Wesleyan has announced that the long-running Playmarket program will continue its New York tradition in the spring. The selected one-act play reading will be presented at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.
The mission of the historic off-Broadway venue, according to their website, "is to present diverse, challenging and provocative plays that might not otherwise be produced and to foster the future voices of the American theater. We produce theater to inspire empathy and provoke conversations in response to the complexities of our culture. It is essential that Rattlestick’s artists, audience, and core team reflect the diversity of New York City, and that a wide array of perspectives are represented on the Rattlestick stage."
Previous Playmarket in New York readings included Fallen Goldfish by Dean Phillips II, Graham's Grail by John J. Humphrey, Positive by Brittani Evans, Lycanthrope by Chuck Fain, Certificate of Death by Walter Wykes, among other readings.
Submission information will be available soon for all potential playwright candidates.
