Student Spotlight: Senior theatre major Kelsey Manuel's love of theatre
In Theatre Wesleyan's new weekly video series "Student Spotlights," we ask some of our students about the shows they've worked on, their experience on and off campus and their favorite shows.
Senior theatre major Kelsey Manuel has been named the seventh student of the 2015-16 school year to be featured in a new weekly video series called Student Spotlights.
"What I love about Theatre Wesleyan," West says, "is that you get more opportunities to try out different things [...] I got to come in doing what I wanted to do as a freshman."
Kelsey has served as assistant stage manager for Into The Woods, stage manager for The Survivor, 33 Variations, The Drowsy Chaperone, Rent, and more. She is now the lighting designer for the upcoming School for Scandal.
Her favorite play she last saw was Tony Award-winning Best Play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time on Broadway as part of the Playmarket trip to New York in May 2015. She also recalled the time she saw the long-running hit, The Phantom of the Opera as a high school student and how it made her realize what her career path would be.
