Last chance to donate to the music department's food and toy drive

Music department hosts 8th annual Food and Toy Drive

Texas Wesleyan Music students and faculty are continuing their annual food and toy drives. This is the eighth year for each of the drives. Donations can be dropped off on the second floor of Ann Waggoner now through Dec. 18.

The food collected will be donated to the Tarrant Area Food Bank and the toys are donated to the Lena Pope Home Foster Care Program.

"No one should go hungry, and every child deserves to have a smile on their face at Christmastime," said Department Chair Jerry Bierschenk. "This outreach effort gives us all an opportunity take our minds off of ourselves for a bit and reach out to the community.

"It is a good reminder that there are those who are less fortunate."

The drive is not limited to Music Department personnel and students. Anyone wishing to donate should bring their nonperishable food items and/ or new, unwrapped toys to the second floor of the music building (Ann Waggoner) any time between now and Dec. 18.
