Rams have Rhythm: Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month

Student salsa dancing for Hispanic Heritage Month

Texas Wesleyan students were recently treated to a bachata and salsa dancing lesson courtesy of Salsa at the Gardens (SATG), a non-profit Salsa group that serves the Fort Worth community. According to their mission statement, SATG “allows people to enhance their quality of life, improve their health, develop their dancing skills, socialize, and create unforgettable memories.” Those who attended the SATG dance lesson on Sept. 24 can attest to the group’s ability to provide a fun atmosphere in which students could get to know each other outside of class. The lesson not only allowed students to socialize and move their bodies—it also offered them a chance to celebrate Hispanic culture. The event marked the third time that SATG has visited TXWES to share their love of Latin dancing, and we can’t wait to have them back! If you missed them this time, stay tuned for the next opportunity.
