Theatre Wesleyan continues the long-running Playmarket "work-in-progress" series with two short original plays on Sunday, May 9. The readings will be held at the Thad Smotherman Theatre at Texas Wesleyan University (1205 Binkley Street, 76105). The readings are free and open to the public; a live Zoom option will also be available.

The back-to-back play readings will include Dugout Daisies by Julissa Mishay Norment and Verräter by Andrea German. Both students were involved in our outdoor rock musical-inspired concert, OH, WHAT A NIGHT!  Norment was a soloist and German served as the stage manager for the concert. An early version of Dugout Daisies was presented as part of Theatre Wesleyan's production of Portraits In Black from November 2020.

The production team includes professor Connie Whitt-Lambert (director), Taliyah Salih (stage manager), Julissa Norment (lighting design), Annahi Castillo (assistant lighting design), Kyrsten Howard (sound design), Elena Cruce (assistant sound design), Samantha Berg (costume design), Ethan Brandt (master electrician) and Douglas Fournier (live stream coordinator).

Faculty, staff and students, as well as audience members who attend the play readings will adhere to local and university social distancing guidelines.

All plans and information are subject to change and announcements will be made in the event adjustments are, or need to be, made for the safety of our faculty, staff, students, and audience.
